Examination & Treatment Procedure

National Medical ™ physicians are located throughout the United States. Our local physician, licensed in the state where the patient resides, conducts a prior physical examination, performs a clinical assessment, and obtains a medical indication before the issuance of any prescription for medication to any National Medical ™ patient. This process applies to all National Medical ™ treatment programs described on this site.

LEGAL COMPLIANCE

National Medical Clinic, Inc.

and National Network of Physicians

Patient Telephone Registration and Enrollment

National Medical Clinic, Inc. (NMC) and American Medical General, Inc. (AMG) do not offer patients online or Internet registration and enrollment in any medical treatment. Patients may only register and enroll in a medical treatment by telephone. A patient is referred to an NMC physician who is a member of the ‘The National Organization of American Physicians ™’ after telephone registration and enrollment with National Medical Clinic, Inc. or American Medical General, Inc.

Prescribing Treatment with Controlled Substance Prescription Drugs

Testosterone is the only controlled substance prescription drug prescribed by some NMC member physicians for NMC medical treatments. Testosterone therapy is not available at all NMC member physician locations.

State laws pertaining to the valid issuance of controlled substance prescription drugs and the distribution of controlled substances were pre-empted by a new federal law amending the Controlled Substance Act effective April 13, 2009, entitled the “Ryan Haight Online Pharmacy Consumer Protection Act of 2008”. Therefore, federal law, rather than state law, governs and determines the validity of any controlled substance prescription and legal distribution of the controlled substance.

Physicians evaluating patients referred to them by NMC or the Patient Referral Service of the National Organization of American Physicians™ only issue prescriptions for a controlled substance prescription drugs to such patients for (1) a legitimate medical purpose (2) in the usual course of professional practice (3) based upon an in-person evaluation of the patient by the prescribing physician.

Both the prescribing physician and the pharmacy dispensing the controlled substance prescription drug must be registered under section 303(f) of the Controlled Substance Act.

Prescribing Treatment with Prescription Drugs that are Not Controlled Substances

State laws and state Medical Boards generally govern and determine what constitutes the issuance of a valid prescription for non-controlled substance prescription drugs by physicians licensed to practice medicine in the state. NMC physicians who are members of ‘The National Organization of American Physicians™’ and treat NMC patients referred to them comply with applicable state law in the issuance of prescriptions for non-controlled substance prescription drugs.

A prescription issued to a patient located in the U.S. for a non-controlled prescription drug by a U.S. licensed physician is valid (1) it issued for a legitimate medical purpose (2) in the usual course of professional practice after the patient has undergone a physical examination and evaluation.

Every state separately imposes the same basic requirement under its laws for prescribing non-controlled substance prescription drug. For purposes of State law, many state authorities, with the endorsement of medical societies, consider the existence of the following four elements as an indication that a legitimate doctor/patient relationship has been established:

  • A patient has a medical complaint;
  • A patient medical history has been taken;
  • A physical examination of the patient must be conducted by a state licensed medical provider before the prescription is issued;
  • The prescribing physician must conduct an evaluation of the patient; and,
  • Some logical connection must exist between the medical complaint and the medication prescribed by the treating physician.\
