HCG to Reduce Testicular Atrophy, Increase Male Fertility, and
Increase Natural Male Testosterone Production


HCG Cycled with Testosterone:

The purpose of alternating HCG therapy with testosterone therapy is to prevent testicular atrophy, the loss of natural testosterone production and decline in sperm count during testosterone therapy. HCG is administered alone after each testosterone administration within the total testosterone and HCG therapy cycle.

Medical Purpose for HCG Therapy:

HCG is a hormone that is also used to maintain and increase natural testosterone production and prevent testicular atrophy in male patients undergoing testosterone hormone replacement therapy.

HCG is used to prevent loss of natural testosterone production by the testis and prevent testicular atrophy which can be an adverse side effect of undergoing continuing testosterone therapy when testosterone is not cycled with HCG Therapy.

HCG is also adminstered to men to promote an increase in sperm count and the level of natural testosterone production following a period during which testosterone alone was administered for an extended time period by a medical service provider
other than National Medical Clinic, Inc. resulting in testicular atrophy and a reduction of natural testosterone production by the testis.

HCG is for use in cases of hypogonadotropic hypogonadism (hypogonadism secondary to a pituitary deficiency) in males.

Clinical Pharmacology - HCG:

The action of HCG is virtually identical to that of pituitary LH, although HCG appears to have a small degree of FSH activity as well. It stimulates production of gonadal steroid hormones by stimulating the interstitial cells (Leydig cells) of the testis to produce androgens. HCG is compounded or manufactured in 5,000 to 20,000 IU (International Units) per 10 cc vials.

HCG is a natural protein hormone secreted by the human placenta and purified form the urine of pregnant women. This hormone is not a natural male hormone but mimics the natural hormone LH (Leutenizing Hormone) almost identically. This LH stimulates the production of testosterone by the testis in males.

Thus HCG sends the same message and results in increased testosterone production by the testis due to HCG’s effect on the leydig cells of the testis. HCG therapy uses the body’s own biochemical stimulating mechanisms to increase plasma testosterone level.

When administered, HCG raises serum testosterone very quickly. A rise in testosterone first appears in about two hours after injecting HCG. The second peak occurs about two to four days later.

HCG is not a steroid and is administered to prevent testicular atrophy that occurs with sustained testosterone hormone replacement therapy. It assists the body in the continuing production of its own natural testosterone as a result of LH signals stimulating production of testosterone by the testis.

This LH stimulates the production of testosterone by the testis in males. Thus HCG sends the same message and results in increased testosterone production by the testis due to HCG’s effect on the leydig cells of the testis.

Patients on sustained testosterone hormone replacement therapy use HCG to increase the body’s own natural production of testosterone, which is often depressed by long term testosterone therapy use. Also when testosterone is provided the body from an external source, it can cause false signals to the hypothalamus that results in a depressed signal to the testis.

To avoid a reduction in natural testosterone production as the result of a high level of supplemental testsosterone in the blood as a result of testsoterone therapy, patients undergo HCG therapy to maintain an LH stimulation and produciton signal to the testis and prevent testicular atrophy. HCG therapy prevents testicular atrophy by using the body’s own biochemical stimulating mechanisms to increase plasma testosterone level during testosterone therapy.

HCG is also used to stimulate the testis of men who may be hypogonadal or lack sufficient testosterone. Sperm count and fertility are increased as a result of such HCG therapy.

HCG is also used to treat women with certain ovarian disorders and infertility.
